Tierra y Libertad!!
The coffee that fueled a revolution.
Café de Olla is a Mexican coffee beverage that originated during the Mexican Revolution (1910 - 1920). This drink was a favorite of Emiliano Zapato, a leading figure in the Mexican Revolution. Zapata fought to preserve indigenous customs. His supporters, "Zapatistas", adopted the motto, "Tierra y Libertad!" - Land and Liberty!!
Birdtown enjoys coffees from other cultures, we were able to try Café de Olla and decided it was too good not to share. We meticulously crafted this recipe to be authentic but also added a touch of creativity. This recipe is made from our Mexico - Comon Yaj Noptic Single Origin coffee and mixed with cocoa husk & nibs, cloves, cinnamon, and piloncillo.
Our cocoa husk and nibs are sourced from The Cleveland Chocolate Company.
This coffee will be sold in 8 oz canisters and will be ground to help keep the ingredients homogenized for a better brewing experience and maintain freshness.
"Please note this coffee is less sweet than a traditional Café de Olla"
